Mountain Home Cabbin has been operating as a hostel on the Appalachian Trail since December, 2013. We'd like to be listed - mile 970 Northb
We've been operating a hostel on the Appalachian Trail since December, 2013. Mountain Home is located on Rte 522, 100 yards from the trail at Northbound mile 970. We were recently alerted that we are not listed on your trail guide, despite being in all three guide books and Guthook. Please update wikitrail to include Mountain Home Cabbin.

Use Trailheads as staring and stoping points on Plans not just Towns
This would be nice as not all of us are thru hikers and want to go into town... I started the AT last year in Harpers Ferry and rode the Roller Coaster SOBO. I'm continuing this year and would like to be able to use the planner to figure out were to stop and start day to day and know where to end on major highways so someone can pick me up after I complete the section.

Add an end date option
For those that are on a time constraint or only have a few days vacation or have to get back to work. It would be cool to chose a start and end date as well. The results would show how far you can get or how fast/slow you'd have to go to finish within your window. Thank you for creating this, it's awesome.

Make the font larger in the pdf guide
Either make the pdf text larger or make a larger text version for the phone. Even with my reading glasses, much of the text is hard to read. Plus, it will be a pain to have to use reading glasses every time I want to look at it on the trail. You can zoom in but then parts of the page scroll off screen making it harder to interpret things.

Add the Long Trail
Since you have a portion of the Long Trail in here, as part of the AT, and since it is the first long distance hiking celebrating it's 101 years birthday.

Make it possible to edit plans day by day
It would be nice if a plan could be modified on a day by day basis. I don't know how hard this would be, but I would like to be able to make the system stay at certain shelters, or have zero days at certain locations. I realize I could do a series of mini plans for the zero day locations, but it would be more convenient to have everything together.

GPS Coordinates
I love the planner and wonder if you have the GPS for the various campsites and water spots along the trail. Many show miles location, but nothing to show on the map.

Key Locations and Weekend Trips
I love the trip planner, but I wish I could choose some of my zero days. I want to spend a weekend in a couple locations, and there are other places that I really want to spend the night. It would be awesome if I could select parts of the trail where I want to camp so the calculator can show me the required mileage.

Create a Loop option
For those who want to start and stop in the same place, you should create a loop option so they can see how far they could get in a given amount of time (ie. 5-6 days).

Would LOVE to have this tool for use on the GR-5.
The GR-5 is 2200kms from Holland to the Mediterranean . A tool like this would be invaluable when calculating stops, etc.

Download elevation profile data?
Could you make a gpx file for the current section available for download? I see the kml file, but I would love to look at elevation data. Thank you for a very useful site!

great site - many thanks for making it. I like the elevation view best. navigation from dot to dot on that could be easier (scroll)

Ability to link photos of the water sources, privies, and shelters
Allow linking of photos...or make it more clear how to do.

Any plans to do other trails around US??
The wikiTrail guide is absolutely incredible but for those of us not wanting to do the ATC for a year or so , have you mapped any others in the US?

Thank you
I haven't been on the site long enough to give you ideas yet, but I definitely will be. THANK YOU for doing this site. It's already been more helpful in the last hour than anything I've tried as of yet!

Allow multiple features in a location
Gap, Trail crossing, Water source, Campsite all together. I could only add one
