The Front Royal, VA to Harpers Ferry map pdf

Great site. Something strange on the Front Royal, VA to Harpers Ferry map.AT-Front Royal to Harpers Ferry-Feb142016.pdf) The elevation for Bears Den is 1350 but the map line is at 1000? The reason I noticed the error is that I hike Bears Den at least twice a month and the climb up the hill to Bears Den NOBO is painful.

    Hey, thanks for the comment. Yeah, unfortunately the trail's elevation data is not as accurate as it could be. The GPS/elevation data comes straight from a survey that the ATC did a while back and the density of their data is not consistent.

    I get around this issue on most parts of the trail by using nearby features to get things lined-up, but on this part of the trail all of the features with GPS coordinates are > .1 miles from the trail.
